Dave's technical background is in Mechanical Engineering Design but the gradual integration of computing via CAD,CAM and robotics into design and production led him to become more dependent upon the use of computer based systems and computer programming.
Dave made the move to be Head of the School of Business and Information Technology at Oldham College and as well as leading many collaborative projects with local industrial/ commercial companies, Dave worked as a consultant for a period of five years working on projects for ICL, Shell, Thompson, United Utilities and Business Link. He also carried out sub-contract work for several management consultancies which involved assessment/ training activities. Dave's teaching in the department of Informatics focuses mainly on Application Development and Systems Analysis with a special interest in the use of .NET technologies.
